Southport Aerokits Gathering 2010!
Did you attend the event? Tell us what you thought!
Event Details
# The event has really come about because of the number of people around this area who have fireboats! It seems the boat is getting more and more popular so as a bit of fun it's been suggested to have an event in the North West. Southport has a really nice boating lake and is set just off from the main water front. Running alongside the lake is the model engineers miniature railway, so why not have a ride on them too while you're here!
What should I bring?
# Your boat of course! Just like the Fireboat Funday in Burton-On-Trent the event is not entirely restricted to fireboats! The crash tender was popular due to Aerokits and so if you have any other Aerokit models such as these: Fairey Swordsman, Patrol Torpedo Boat, Sea Commander, Sea Queen, Sea Urchin, Sea Nymph, Fast Patrol Launch, Sea Scout, Sea Hornet or Sea Rover then they are welcome too!
Location/Directions
# The location map should be found below, the lake is part of Victoria Park and accessible from Rotten Row, Southport, PR8 2BZ. Click Here to see it on google street view.
# For those in the UK with valid postcodes the directions will be shown below!
Club Rules Apply...
# Only Southport club members are allowed in the car park but there should be ample parking along the side of the road. The side of the road nearest the lake is not double yellow and you are allowed to park all day.
# No I.C. boats, electric only.
